The Curious Case of the Disappearing Terbinafine 1% Spray....

Over the last few months, I have been receiving a lot of e-mails reporting the disappearance of Lamisil 1% spray (Terbinafine) from shelves in UK chemists, as well as suppliers running out of stock. This seems is presenting a problem particularly if practitioners are supplying patients with the spray for use after Clearanail.

Rumours had been flying that it was discontinued but after a bit searching it would appear that it is coming back. Contact with the company confirms that it has gone back into production as of last month (July) and consequently it should be making its way back into the retail chain within a few weeks.

As of April 2025, the Lamisil/Terbinafine spray is still not available, and it appears that the cream is likewise no longer on the market. Stores in the States, as well as Ebay that used to stock both no longer have any on hand, and have no projected restocking dates.

What now? Now it has been discontinued. Not sure why or what to use in place of it.
